Summer Vibes: 5 Simple Reminders to Shine

Summer Vibes: 5 Simple Reminders to Shine

Last month, I had the privilege of teaching my SimplyAlign Training to a fantastic group of students representing 10 different states, and one student all the way from Poland (thank you, technology!). Together, we dove deep into the wonderful world of raising our vibrations and learning ways to align energy. But guess what? You don’t need to have taken the class to get in on the good vibes!

Today here’s a reminder of some down-to-earth, practical tips and prompts on how you can raise your vibration and let your inner light glow. So, let’s dive in and explore these simple yet effective methods that will have you radiating positive energy in no time:

  • Cultivate gratitude daily to shift your focus to the positive.

Ask yourself, “What are three things I am grateful for in my life right now?”

> Go on…you can do it right now.

  • Surround yourself with positive people and uplifting environments.

Reflect on, “Who are the people in my life who bring me joy and uplift my spirits?”

> How can I spend more time with them this summer?

  • Prioritize self-care activities that nurture your well-being.

Consider, “What activities or practices make me feel most rejuvenated and taken care of?”

> Schedule those activities into your day and/or week, put them in your calendar now.

  • Practice mindfulness and be fully present in the moment.

Ask yourself, “How can I bring more mindfulness into my daily routines and fully experience the present moment?”

> Throughout the day, create mindful pauses to check in with yourself. Take a few deep breaths, bring your attention to the present moment.

  • Align with your passions and purpose to feel fulfilled and inspired.

Reflect on, “What are my true passions and values and how can I incorporate them more into my life to feel a sense of purpose and fulfillment?”

> This summer be open to exploring something new. Take classes, join groups, or volunteer in areas that align with your interests. This allows you to gain firsthand experience and insights, helping you uncover your true passions or a new, fun hobby.

Remember, keeping your vibe up is a journey, not an overnight transformation. Be patient with yourself and embrace the process. Some days may be easier than others, and that’s okay. Give yourself permission to grow and learn along the way. Cheers to a vibrant summer!

Merry Christmas

Are You Finishing 2022 Rested or Finishing Strong?

Are You Finishing 2022 Rested or Finishing Strong?

We often hear about “finishing the year strong” – I don’t know about you, but this year I just want to finish the year feeling rested, clear and peaceful.

My goal is to step into the New Year RESTED.

Because rested IS strong, right?

Merry Christmas

The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is my favorite week of the year (Yep, I like it even more than my birth-week!). Maybe it’s your fave too? Because usually nothing is scheduled that week. It’s like getting a bonus week where I can rest, play, review my past year and plan for the next one.

One thing I do during that “bonus” week is – Go through the months in my past calendar.
I review each week and each activity.

I ask myself these three questions:

  • Did this activity energize me?
  • Did this activity drain me?
  • Did this activity help me align with my values & goals?

It’s super helpful to see where I spent time, and how that helped or hindered me, which is useful in planning for the upcoming year.

If you’ve never done this, I highly recommend it. Keep in mind, you need to set aside a few hours for it. And when you do this and then schedule for 2023, -to the extent you can- schedule in more of what energizes you and less of what drains you.

TIP: These three questions also make an excellent evening journal prompt. It helps you realize real quick where you’re spending time that isn’t making you feel good or moving you forward so you can adjust accordingly.

During December’s last week, in addition to reviewing, visioning, and planning I also just love the downtime. This poem by Edgar Guest makes me smile, I included it because I thought you might like it too.

(You may have heard of Edgar A Guest (1881-1959), he became known as ‘the people’s poet’ because his poems often had an inspirational and optimistic view of everyday life).

The happiest nights I ever know
Are those when I have no place to go,

And the missus says when the day is through:
“Tonight we haven’t a thing to do.”

Oh, the joy of it, and the peace untold
Or sitting ‘round in my slippers old,

With my pipe and book in my easy chair,
Knowing I needn’t go anywhere.

Needn’t hurry my evening meal
Nor force the smiles that I do not feel,

But can grab a book from a nearby shelf,
And drop all sham and be myself.

Oh, the charm of it and the comfort rare;
Nothing on earth with it can compare;

And I’m sorry for him who doesn’t know
The joy of having no place to go.

Edgar A. Guest

As you enjoy Christmas this weekend do your best to prioritize some rest for yourself. And block out time on your next week’s schedule for reviewing, dreaming, planning, and just “sitting ‘round in your slippers old”.

Much Love,
Carolyn

Consent

Don’t Consent to This!

I’m here with a quick message today from my friend, Eleanor Roosevelt –

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent”

I love this statement and have referred to it many times over the years.

Consent

(And isn’t it cool that our shoe color matches?)

The definition of consent is: permission, approval, or agreement.

We can’t control what anyone else says or does, but we can always choose how we’ll respond. We can let it roll off our back, or give those words and actions permission/approval to settle in.

The emotions we choose to “feel” about another’s comments are created within us because of our own thoughts about what they said.

I know that can sometimes seem like a hard concept, but it’s really so empowering to realize that it’s our own inner thoughts that create our emotions, because words spoken by someone outside of us (an external circumstance) can’t do that.

Keeping our inner thoughts positive lessens the chance of us “consenting” to feel inferior over someone else’s words or actions.

Here are 10 tools to positively fortify your thoughts:

*Limit time with negative people

*Set and keep healthy boundaries

*Always assume good intent

*Do more of what lights you up

*Create a list of personal affirmations -and declare them daily

*Keep a gratitude journal

*Live in alignment with your values

*Keep your word to yourself and to others

*Create good self-care habits

*Practice Self-Compassion

In today’s world we may not always find compassion, tenderness, and empathy, but we can be willing to give it to ourselves.

Pick one thing from this list that you can do more of this coming week.

Much love,

Carolyn Cooper
