I hope you’re having a happy St. Patrick’s Day so far.

I’ve always loved this day, even though I don’t drink beer or eat corned beef, ha! But I do my GREEN each day in my smoothies…does that count?

Have you ever felt like some people just seem to have all the luck? They meet the perfect partner, get the beautiful home, have ‘easy kids’, or just seem to have everything fall into place for them. But what if I told you that luck isn’t just something that happens to you? It’s something you can actively create for yourself.

There’s a trend (popular with TikTokers) known as “lucky girl syndrome”. This actually isn’t a new concept. It’s positive affirmations, plus a little cognitive behavioral therapy that says your thoughts, emotions and behaviors are all connected and influence each other (basically, “The Secret” 2006).

Just yesterday I was sharing on a call with my SimplyAlign Practitioners that there are many ways to create your own luck. Hannah told us that her 12 year old daughter’s birthday is March 17th, so her entire life people have told her she’s a “lucky girl”. And since she believes she’s lucky (because that’s what she’s always been told), good things are always drawn to her. I love it, it’s what I’ve taught for years:

“What you think about, you bring about”

So whether it’s positive thinking, upbeat affirmations, the power of intention, or whatever you choose to call it, here are 6 ways to create your own luck:

  1. Set clear goals: When you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve, you’re more likely to see and seize opportunities that align with your goals.

  2. Take calculated risks: Creating your own luck often means stepping outside of your comfort zone and taking calculated risks. Make sure to weigh the potential risks and benefits before making a decision.

  3. Discipline yourself to work AND to rest: Luck often comes to those who work hard and persevere through challenges. Put in the effort and stay focused on your goals, even when things get tough. And…when you need to rest, take a rest. Sometimes allowing yourself downtime takes discipline too.

  4. Stay open-minded: Sometimes, luck comes in unexpected forms. Be open to new experiences, people, and opportunities, even if they don’t fit neatly into your plans. If you’re willing to try new things, you might find opportunities that you never even knew existed.

  5. Meet more people: Luck is often the result of being in the right place at the right time and knowing the right connectors. Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you. A strong network can help you navigate challenges, connect you with opportunities, and open doors for you.

  6. Keep Learning: The more you know, the more opportunities you’ll have. Keep learning new skills and staying up-to-date on topics in your orbit to increase chances of success.

    And bonus #7 (Gratitude – it’s always a bonus we give ourselves, amiright?)

  7. Practice gratitude: When you appreciate the good things in your life, you attract more good things. Take time to reflect on what you’re grateful for, and celebrate your successes along the way.

Whether you believe it’s from being intentional, receiving blessings, keeping a high vibration, or simply being lucky, the truth is that you have the power to create your own luck.

So go out there and create!

I figured you might be feeling that too, so today I thought it’d be fun to share with you a few of my favorite “distractions.”

Here are five things that make me happy, and I bet some of these can put a smile on your face too!

First, here are two things I’m having so much fun with (and…truth be told probably spending way too much time on).

1) Chat GPT – https://chat.openai.com

Oh man! Have you played around with this yet? I love it so much, it’s like having a personal assistant (but this AI is less snarky than my Alexa). I can see why parents don’t want their kids using this to write their school papers- it’s too easy! But here’s a fun tip -it can and will do so much more than just write talks and papers for you. And the more you use it, it gets to know you (creepy? maybe a little). I asked for 2 weeks of easy vegan dinners and it quickly typed up some really great menu plans and even all the recipes!

Oh, this is a huge online thrift store! It’s so fun to put in your filters: size, colors, etc. then use the search bar for whatever item or brand you’re looking for. (Pro-tip: find the little button that says “Recommends” -and then you can sort by Low to High $) And best of all, you can feel good about buying gently-used (they also have some “new with tags”) because it helps save our planet by not adding to the environmental problem of clothing overproduction. (And bonus, you can clean out your closet and send your clothes to them too!)

Next, here are two “smooth” things that always give me a minute to pause and breathe:

Such a magnificent Maine Coon, the first time he popped up in my scroll he seriously took my breath away! – I dare you to look at his posts without swooning, haha.

These caffeine-free, organic teas in 35 unique flavors offer a ton of health benefits: improved heart health, better digestion, and lower cholesterol levels. I’m not a coffee drinker (even though all Teecino’s are herbal), but I do love their herbal teas. My favorite one this winter is: Chaga Mushroom + Ashwagandha. I add a little almond milk and a dab of pure maple syrup, and it hits the spot for my mid-afternoon break – yum! Also faves of mine are the Dandelion Vanilla Carmel and Chocolate Mint. 5) The Institute of Human Anatomy channel on YouTube. These guys use REAL human cadavers to explain the inner workings of our bodies. I learn so many new things every time I watch one of these videos, it’s fascinating, and sometimes kinda gross -just warning ya!

So there you have it, a list of random things that bring joy to my life and I hope at least one of them will be useful for you too!

5 Daily Strategies to Love Yourself More

I was recently asked an interesting question: “Can you help someone to love themself…and is that even possible through SimplyAlign or coaching?”

My answer to that (and what I’m sharing with you today) is -yes it’s possible, and yes, over the 25+ years that I’ve done energy work, and now coaching, I’ve worked with many clients who struggle with self-love and self-acceptance. It seems to be something that affects most of us to one degree or another at different times in our lives. Self love is a critical aspect of any healing process, because having it, or the lack of it, ripples out to all other areas of our lives.

So, whether I’m coaching, or clearing energy with SimplyAlign, here are some strategies I use to help my clients connect to themselves more deeply so they can live and love whole-heartedly. As you read through this list, check in with yourself that you are getting ‘enough’ of each of these, and I invite you to identify one loving thing that you can do for yourself in the next few days:

  1. Self-care: I know we hear it all the time, but one of the best ways to show love to yourself is through self-care. I encourage my clients to prioritize self-care activities such as exercise, meditation, or taking a relaxing bath. When we set aside time for ourselves, we are sending a message to the subconscious mind that we are deserving of that time, love, and care.
  2. Self-compassion: Often, clients who struggle with self-love have a harsh inner critic that constantly berates them, and most often this began in childhood. In addition to releasing any adverse energetic vibration of childhood experiences and/or generational issues, I also teach my clients self-compassion techniques, such as talking to themselves the way they would talk to a friend or visualizing themselves being held in a loving embrace. These techniques help clients cultivate a more compassionate inner dialogue.
  3. Explore limiting beliefs: In general, people who struggle with self-love have underlying limiting beliefs that are holding them back. With SimplyAlign, it’s easy to quickly get to the root causes and release the low-vibrations without having to re-live the entire story. But I also help my clients follow the thread to identify their beliefs and reframe them into a more positive and empowering story. It’s a step toward resilience in the process of connecting with your own heart.
  4. Use positive affirmations: It’s so true that the words we ‘declare’ matter. I find that when asked the right questions, my clients are really skillful at coming up with powerful, customized affirmations they can repeat to themselves daily. These personalized affirmations help to reprogram their subconscious mind with positive beliefs and thoughts, which can help to increase self-love and self-acceptance.
  5. Focus on strengths: I love helping my clients and students see their own light that they may not even be aware of, or have lost sight of. I encourage them to focus on their strengths and accomplishments rather than their perceived shortcomings. And of course by focusing on what they do well and what they have achieved, they can develop a greater sense of their own capacity and self-love.

These five strategies can be practiced everyday to develop a greater sense of self-compassion and self-acceptance.

At the beginning of this post (and since we can all use a stronger, consistent connection to our own heart), I invited you to identify one loving thing from the above list that you can do for yourself in the next few days, and, pro-tip: put a reminder on your calendar to increase accountability and follow through, yay!

As you add more loving thoughts and actions into your life, you’ll find it crowds out the self-limiting thoughts and behaviors, and aligns you with the peace that comes from giving yourself permission to love yourself.

In 1996 when I began practicing energy work on friends, family, then clients, I used what I’d been taught through classes and whatever few books were published on it at the time.

But I also had to learn to rely on my own intuition, and trust God to give me inspiration as I did the work.

It was important to me to learn the cleanest, purest and least complicated way of doing this type of work.

When I started doing this work, I was so happy to be able to help clients with whatever challenges they faced in their lives.

As a bonus, over the years I’ve seen how much growth also comes to the students who train to be SimplyAlign Practitioners.

Why I love my business? Freedom to do this….

This week I’m writing you from my mom’s home in southern Utah, where I’m helping her after she fell, hit her head, and then spent 3 days on the floor because she was unable to get up or reach her phone. A friend, after calling for 3 days with no answer, finally got my brother’s number and called him. (He is so good to look out for her, was just there the night before she fell, in addition he had company that week).

As soon as he got the call, he and his wife ran right over, and after an ambulance ride, a week’s hospital stay, plus 2 weeks in a rehab center, my little mama is home safe and sound.

And yes, she is now willing to wear a medical-alert necklace. (We got her a google-voice last year but she unhooked it because it creeped her out. She was afraid ‘he’ was listening to her.)

Here’s the thing…
I had no idea my little ‘mamacita’ (who is nearly 90 years old) was so popular! She’s lived in the same small town and attended the the same church congregation for 55 years, plus worked at a local bank for 25 years, so yes, she knows a lot of people!

While in the hospital, she received numerous phone calls daily, including Marco Polo videos from her kids and grandkids, and get this – she had 18 ( ! ) friends visit while in the rehab center! And now at home there have been so many friends stopping by bringing fresh-baked bread, tapioca pudding, homemade chocolate treats, etc.

And the phone calls are non-stop with people checking in on her. Word spreads fast around here apparently.

I mean…I know a lot of people, but I really don’t think I’d get 18 people visiting me in-between physical therapy appointments, and then phone calls and visitors all day, every day as I recovered at home. (Would I even want that? Hmm…probably not.)

But I get it…many of these friends are around her same age so they don’t text…they call or come and visit in person.
That’s how their generation does it. And it’s a wonderful thing.

I was reminded about two important lessons this week:

1) Be a good friend like my mom has been to so many people over the years. The acts of service that you send out come back to you.

2) There is power in doing work that you love that also gives you flexibility. I wouldn’t have had the luxury to quickly jump on a plane and travel across the country to help my little mama when needed had it not been for entrepreneurship.

I love running my own business and the time and money freedom to be able to still do everything I need to from here. With internet and phones I can take care of mamacita and I still get to love on my clients too.

And you know what?

That’s why I teach SimplyAlign. Along with all the innovative ways you can use the science of energy work, I also teach my students how to give service AND how to build a business that can travel wherever they do.

^^^ Welcome to my workspace. ^^^

This is where I write these weekly emails, do my SimplyAlign phone sessions, teach all my online Training Courses, coach my High Performance clients, and everything else involved in my biz.

I’m sharing because I just wanted to give you a little glimpse into what it’s like here at Carolyn Cooper International, Inc. (did you know that’s the official name of my biz?).

Except for one little thing, I LOVE this big, light office so much! I’m sure I manifested it by visualizing a big office like this for so many years. It’s at the top of the staircase in our apartment and often when I’m not in there working but walk past, I open the door and stick my head in just to say, “Ooh I love this office!”

About that one little thing…it’s probably because there are windows running along two of the four walls, but this room is FREEZING cold this time of year! It’s nothing my little space heater can’t help with, but seriously, I often I feel like Bob Cratchit warming my frigid fingers over a little candle, brrrr.

But bonus…despite the cold, my plants grow super well in here with all the light coming through the windows. And spring is just around the corner, right? lol

As I’m thinking about what a blessing it is that I get to teach students from so many different and far away locations, from my groovy little biz-hub here, I am so grateful and wanted to let you see where I spend my days doing work I love.

Hello my friend!

Did I ever tell you that my son Jaxon who lives in our Utah home built an amazing recording studio in my former bedroom? Umm, yes he really did, that clever boy.

I’m still in southern Utah enjoying family, working with clients over the phone, AND using the studio to record some new audios and videos for some upcoming projects – it’s work, but it’s fun!

This weekend I’m heading to California to spend some beach time with my son Sinjin’s family, and I’m giddy with excitement to spend a few days with my adorable granddaughters! Since I live in DC and they are w-a-a-a-y across the country in California, I don’t get to squeeze those little sweeties as often as I’d like to. Thank goodness for FaceTime!

Oh my, that was a lot of personal chit-chat, all to say –

Are You An Angel In the Marble?

Are You An Angel In the Marble?

I love this quote by Michelangelo because I truly believe we all have light, we are all angelic in our special way. And when I work with a client in a SimplyAlign session I feel like this is what I’m doing.

I’m simply helping to carve away the marble…or to say it differently, to release the heavy parts that are limiting their perception of themself and what they are capable of. Once the false beliefs are discovered and diffused that opens up confidence, self love, clarity and endless possibilities for growth. It’s light-filled, powerful work, and I’m humbled to work with amazing clients and students.

The way I see it, we are all in this University of Life to have experiences, to learn and to grow.

Sometimes those life circumstances and experiences can feel heavy…literally like a block of marble.

It helps to have tools to help chip away the marble so the true “angel” (you!) can shine.

Are You Living Above The Line?

One of my favorite ways to explain about energy/emotions/frequency, whether I’m teaching a class or just explaining to one client in a private session, is to use the concept of living above or below the line.

This concept is used in a lot of different ways, but I talk about it referring to emotions.

We all get the “opportunity” to feel a broad range of emotions throughout our lives, throughout a week, or really it can be throughout one day!

Some emotions are heavy, and have a slower vibration. Emotions such as:

sadness / anger / fear / shame / doubt / anxiety / envy / disappointment / irritation / worry / impatience, and so many more.

Since these emotions are heavy and sluggish, they can literally make us feel heavy and sluggish when we are carrying them. These are what I call Below the Line.

On the flip side, emotions that make us feel light, lift us up, and feel so good are:

joy / peace / gratitude / hope / contentment / serenity / awe / relief / confidence / optimism / LOVE / enthusiasm, ETC. These I refer to as Above the Line.

Let’s say there’s an invisible line and all the negative emotions fall beneath it, and all the positive emotions float above it. With that visual it’s easy to see that we want to Live Above The Line. It feels so much better to live in the space of these higher vibrating emotions!

Living Above the Line

But let’s go back to what I said earlier, we all get the “opportunity” to experience all these emotions. So, yes our goal is to do what we can to live ABOVE the line, but it’s really ok if we occasionally sink below it while experiencing one or more of the heavy emotions.

After all…that’s part of this life’s experience. We’re not meant to only live above the line, but yes, life is much more pleasant when we pro-actively do what we can to live from the “up-side”.

Sometimes we carry heavy emotions temporarily while we’re going through some tough stuff, and sometimes those emotions get stuck in our tissues, in our energy, in our mind.

What SimplyAlign does is find the cause of the negative emotion and release it at its root.

You don’t have to remember the event or re-live what happened, often the energy just needs a witness…and a skilled practitioner.

The negative emotions we carry can be from situations we are currently experiencing, or can be stored and stagnating from years of layering these sluggish emotions without fully releasing and letting them go. Oh wow, that sounds heavy doesn’t it?

The good news is, we don’t have to carry them. There are ways to get to the root and clean it up, even if we don’t know the exact emotions, where they came from, or that they were even still lurking there.

Last week I worked with a new client and several times through the session she said, “I feel so light!” I told her, “Yes, that’s how SimplyAlign works.” That’s the statement I hear the most from clients, and it goes back to releasing the heavy vibrations.

So, here’s my invitation for you this week:

Pay attention to how you’re feeling. Check in with yourself during the day to notice what emotion you’re feeling at the time, and whether it’s ABOVE or BELOW the line. Of course the goal is to stay above the line, by keeping or shifting your thoughts to a positive state.

Just having this awareness will help raise your vibration. Yay You!

Fathers Day & Summer Coupon

I’m often asked how I got into holistic healing. Well, I was first interested because my dad taught me that our bodies all have a perfect blueprint for health and that our thoughts have a direct influence on the health of our bodies.

I have fond memories of being at the family dinner table with Dad, a Chiropractor by profession, telling us about different patients he had helped. Without revealing names or other confidential information about the patient, he would simply relate to us what their ailment was and how much better their body was functioning after getting it aligned.

Dad had patients drive for hours to come and see him, yet he was very humble about his gifts. His amazement at the body’s capacity to heal and his pure joy at being able to help facilitate that healing was what really sparked my interest in natural healing at a young age.

When I was first starting out in my energy healing business (what is now SimplyAlign), my dad’s enthusiasm and encouragement about what I was discovering and developing meant so much to me.

We all need a person in our life who encourages us.
