PS: Today is Day 3 (of 26) for me, on the Green Smoothie Girl Detox. The main group begins on Tues Jan 10th, so you can still jump in if you’re feeling like doing something “heroic” – haha! Seriously, it really does give you such a feeling of accomplishment. This is my 8th time, so I know what to expect, but I’m feeling accomplished just after a few days -simply by stepping up to do something that takes some commitment.

(The early bird pricing is over, but you can still join, and you can start your Day 1 anytime that fits your schedule). You can go here to learn more:

Merry Christmas

Are You Finishing 2022 Rested or Finishing Strong?

Are You Finishing 2022 Rested or Finishing Strong?

We often hear about “finishing the year strong” – I don’t know about you, but this year I just want to finish the year feeling rested, clear and peaceful.

My goal is to step into the New Year RESTED.

Because rested IS strong, right?

Merry Christmas

The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day is my favorite week of the year (Yep, I like it even more than my birth-week!). Maybe it’s your fave too? Because usually nothing is scheduled that week. It’s like getting a bonus week where I can rest, play, review my past year and plan for the next one.

One thing I do during that “bonus” week is – Go through the months in my past calendar.
I review each week and each activity.

I ask myself these three questions:

  • Did this activity energize me?
  • Did this activity drain me?
  • Did this activity help me align with my values & goals?

It’s super helpful to see where I spent time, and how that helped or hindered me, which is useful in planning for the upcoming year.

If you’ve never done this, I highly recommend it. Keep in mind, you need to set aside a few hours for it. And when you do this and then schedule for 2023, -to the extent you can- schedule in more of what energizes you and less of what drains you.

TIP: These three questions also make an excellent evening journal prompt. It helps you realize real quick where you’re spending time that isn’t making you feel good or moving you forward so you can adjust accordingly.

During December’s last week, in addition to reviewing, visioning, and planning I also just love the downtime. This poem by Edgar Guest makes me smile, I included it because I thought you might like it too.

(You may have heard of Edgar A Guest (1881-1959), he became known as ‘the people’s poet’ because his poems often had an inspirational and optimistic view of everyday life).

The happiest nights I ever know
Are those when I have no place to go,

And the missus says when the day is through:
“Tonight we haven’t a thing to do.”

Oh, the joy of it, and the peace untold
Or sitting ‘round in my slippers old,

With my pipe and book in my easy chair,
Knowing I needn’t go anywhere.

Needn’t hurry my evening meal
Nor force the smiles that I do not feel,

But can grab a book from a nearby shelf,
And drop all sham and be myself.

Oh, the charm of it and the comfort rare;
Nothing on earth with it can compare;

And I’m sorry for him who doesn’t know
The joy of having no place to go.

Edgar A. Guest

As you enjoy Christmas this weekend do your best to prioritize some rest for yourself. And block out time on your next week’s schedule for reviewing, dreaming, planning, and just “sitting ‘round in your slippers old”.

Much Love,
Carolyn

Can You Empower Like An Elephant?

Can You Empower Like An Elephant?

Wow, what a fun few days I had teaching a Refresher Course and the Align Your Shine event last week!

SimplyAlign Refresher 2022

One of the things I talked about during the Align Your Shine event was: empowered people empower people.

SimplyAlign Refresher Align - Nov. 2022

I shared the example of female elephants. Nature photographers, scientists, and naturalists have noticed an amazing social dynamic called an ‘elephant circle’. These female elephants are fierce protectors of each other.

Did you know that when a mama elephant gives birth the others gather around to celebrate by making trumpeting sounds, and also protect her and the baby by circling around them?

Elephants

We all know that when we give birth to new ideas, new situations in our lives, new creations, etc. it’s so much easier to do when we feel surrounded and protected by other women, and people in our lives that we know truly have our backs. To have someone help celebrate or protect our dreams is such an empowering experience.

So…how can we do the same for other women?

In what ways are you being a fierce protector for your friends, family, and even acquaintances?

Who do you know that is ‘birthing’ something new and could use a few words of celebration, or support?

Who can you gather ‘round this week to help feel special and supported?

Thanksgiving is coming up, so think about those in your own family that you may encounter this week. Who can you encourage with your words, your actions, or maybe just a sincere hug?

Photographer David Yarrow has captivated the world with this beautifully powerful photo of an elephant circle.

Shine On,
Carolyn

subconscious

Let’s talk about your subconscious…

Let’s talk about your subconscious…

You may not always be aware of it, but your subconscious mind is always working in the background. It’s sometimes called the unconscious mind, and it holds all of the stored information of everything you have ever experienced.

The subconscious mind keeps your body temperature at 98.6 degrees, regulates your breathing, and keeps your heart beat steady. It also keeps you thinking and acting in a manner consistent with what you have done and said in the past.

Because of that it influences how you react to things, negatively or positively. It’s the hidden but powerful part that affects things like why you may be fearful, resistant, disappointed in certain situations. And on a good note, why you are motivated, confident, successful, cheerful, hopeful in other situations.

Studies in the field of psychology on how the brain works indicate that the experiences we have shape the way we think and act, especially experiences in our early childhood. Although you don’t remember most of your life data, the unconscious data in your head influences 90 to 95% of your behavior.

A monk was walking down a quiet road when suddenly he heard the sound of a galloping horse.

He turned and saw a man riding a horse in the distance moving swiftly towards him.

When the man on the horse got closer, he slowed down just a bit and the monk asked,

“Where are you going?” To which the man replied, “I don’t know, ask the horse,” and rides away.

The horse in this story represents your subconscious mind running on past conditioning. And sometimes it seems we don’t know where that past programming will take us. If past experiences, conversations, perceptions are in your subconscious mind, running like like this horse, how do we change it when necessary?

Is there a way to update your “horse” with new, positive instructions?

Luckily yes! Because your subconscious doesn’t think or reason independently, it simply obeys the commands it receives from your conscious mind, your conscious thoughts and actions can reprogram it.

You can consciously choose to feed your subconscious with positive, empowering thoughts and here are some ways to do that:

1. Catch your inner critic in the act of saying something negative and ‘flip’ it to the opposite (but something believable)

2. If you want it fast and thorough, SimplyAlign can clean up and re-program thoughts lightening fast

3. Use AFFIRMATIONS to state what you want, who you want to be, and how you want to feel.

And…because I want to help with your affirmations I’m gifting you my ebook: 239 Affirmations to Lighten Your Life !

It’s a collection of my most used and loved affirmations that pack a punch (in a good way!). I hope you love it.

What my daughter taught me

What my daughter taught me

Several years ago my daughter who was in her early 30’s at the time said to me,

“I’ve realized something that has made my life so much easier.”

She went on to say,

“It seems everyone’s life sucks about 30% of the time, and the other 70% is good. So when going through the 30% you just need to know that’s totally normal and you’ll get through it. And then make an effort to really enjoy and be grateful for the 70% smooth, happy times.”

daughter

Wow, I think that’s a great insight…and helpful.

In the years since then, I’ve heard other people teach that life sucks 50% of the time and is great 50% of the time.

As and optimist and a possibilitarian, that not-good-50% just seems WAY to high of a percentage for me.

In fact, for me, that seems a little depressing to think that HALF the time I spend here on planet earth will be unpleasant.

I much prefer my daughter’s pattern of 30/70. Because although life is great “above the line” (see my blog post about that here), it’s that 30% below the line that helps us really APPRECIATE the satisfying 70%.

I would take that one step further and say –

Even within your 30% difficult times, I bet you could find So Very Many other things in your life to be grateful for, which helps to make those ‘sucky times’ bearable.

And even in the 70% good times, there are always little bumps in those roads too.

I’m sharing this insight with you today because…

If you are going through a challenging chapter of your life, just remember, it’s temporary.

Keeping an ongoing gratitude journal (in your brain or on paper) will help you see solutions, appreciate the soul stretching, and give you a more hopeful perspective.

And, if you are living-in-the-70%-flow right now (or at least no major problems at the moment) be grateful for that. Again – it’s gratitude that will increase your awareness and appreciation during good times, and in that space you can inspire and lift others.

Energy Healing - SimplyAlign

Energy Healing: Videos to help answer your questions

Energy Healing: Videos to help answer your questions

Hello my friend!

Did I ever tell you that my son Jaxon who lives in our Utah home built an amazing recording studio in my former bedroom? Umm, yes he really did, that clever boy.

I’m still in southern Utah enjoying family, working with clients over the phone, AND using the studio to record some new audios and videos for some upcoming projects – it’s work, but it’s fun!

This weekend I’m heading to California to spend some beach time with my son Sinjin’s family, and I’m giddy with excitement to spend a few days with my adorable granddaughters! Since I live in DC and they are w-a-a-a-y across the country in California, I don’t get to squeeze those little sweeties as often as I’d like to. Thank goodness for FaceTime!

Oh my, that was a lot of personal chit-chat, all to say –

Since I’m with family this week, but still want to connect with you too, I’m re-sending a couple of my Energy Shot videos from 2020.

These were filmed right before I changed the name from SimplyHealed to SimplyAlign, so if you’re new here, don’t let that throw you off…it’s all the same, great work – just a slightly different name.

If you’ve ever wondered what a SimplyAlign session is like, how to prepare,
or even if you have taken my training but don’t know how to explain a session to others, this video can help:

And the second video is an analogy that has helped me explain to questioners that not all energy healing is the same. I hope it’s helpful for you too.

I have lots of other videos on my YouTube channel, so feel free to watch, learn and please share!

And I’ll be back next week, so until then I hope you create a great week!

Angel

Are You An Angel In the Marble?

Are You An Angel In the Marble?

Angel

“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” – Michelangelo

I love this quote by Michelangelo because I truly believe we all have light, we are all angelic in our special way. And when I work with a client in a SimplyAlign session I feel like this is what I’m doing.

I’m simply helping to carve away the marble…or to say it differently, to release the heavy parts that are limiting their perception of themself and what they are capable of. Once the false beliefs are discovered and diffused that opens up confidence, self love, clarity and endless possibilities for growth. It’s light-filled, powerful work, and I’m humbled to work with amazing clients and students.

The way I see it, we are all in this University of Life to have experiences, to learn and to grow.

Sometimes those life circumstances and experiences can feel heavy…literally like a block of marble.

It helps to have tools to help chip away the marble so the true “angel” (you!) can shine.

SimplyAlign is simply a tool. It doesn’t take the place of prayer, meditation, medical advice, exercise, or even medication. But it does work alongside any and all of those. You don’t need to give up what you’re already doing to get your energy cleared and balanced.

If you’re feeling heavy and would love to ‘set free’ any worries, doubts, sadness, etc. Here are three ways I’d love to help:

1) My 30% off Summer Session coupon code: SUMMER22 is available through August (I still have a few time slots open in Aug. but my schedule is filling, so you can use the coupon through this month, even if you can’t find a spot on my online calendar until Sept).

2) I now have space for 3 more clients in my Move-Up Mondays, 15-min laser sessions. I’d love to work with you for the next 6- months in this effective program! Learn more about it here and email support@carolyncooper.com to secure a spot.

3) Or, join me online for the October SimplyAlign Training. If you’re ready to learn this graceful and effective way of aligning energy to enhance all areas of your life, then please consider our next cerTrac > that’s what we call our “Certification Track” – because it’s way more than just 4 days of online training. All the info about it is right here: https://simplyalign.com/certify/

If you feel more comfortable talking with me first, I’m here to help you get clarity on the best move for you. You can book a fre-e 20-minute Ask CC call here.

Living Above the Line

Are You Living Above The Line?

One of my favorite ways to explain about energy/emotions/frequency, whether I’m teaching a class or just explaining to one client in a private session, is to use the concept of living above or below the line.

This concept is used in a lot of different ways, but I talk about it referring to emotions.

We all get the “opportunity” to feel a broad range of emotions throughout our lives, throughout a week, or really it can be throughout one day!

Some emotions are heavy, and have a slower vibration. Emotions such as:

sadness / anger / fear / shame / doubt / anxiety / envy / disappointment / irritation / worry / impatience, and so many more.

Since these emotions are heavy and sluggish, they can literally make us feel heavy and sluggish when we are carrying them. These are what I call Below the Line.

On the flip side, emotions that make us feel light, lift us up, and feel so good are:

joy / peace / gratitude / hope / contentment / serenity / awe / relief / confidence / optimism / LOVE / enthusiasm, ETC. These I refer to as Above the Line.

Let’s say there’s an invisible line and all the negative emotions fall beneath it, and all the positive emotions float above it. With that visual it’s easy to see that we want to Live Above The Line. It feels so much better to live in the space of these higher vibrating emotions!

Living Above the Line

But let’s go back to what I said earlier, we all get the “opportunity” to experience all these emotions. So, yes our goal is to do what we can to live ABOVE the line, but it’s really ok if we occasionally sink below it while experiencing one or more of the heavy emotions.

After all…that’s part of this life’s experience. We’re not meant to only live above the line, but yes, life is much more pleasant when we pro-actively do what we can to live from the “up-side”.

Sometimes we carry heavy emotions temporarily while we’re going through some tough stuff, and sometimes those emotions get stuck in our tissues, in our energy, in our mind.

What SimplyAlign does is find the cause of the negative emotion and release it at its root.

You don’t have to remember the event or re-live what happened, often the energy just needs a witness…and a skilled practitioner.

The negative emotions we carry can be from situations we are currently experiencing, or can be stored and stagnating from years of layering these sluggish emotions without fully releasing and letting them go. Oh wow, that sounds heavy doesn’t it?

The good news is, we don’t have to carry them. There are ways to get to the root and clean it up, even if we don’t know the exact emotions, where they came from, or that they were even still lurking there.

Last week I worked with a new client and several times through the session she said, “I feel so light!” I told her, “Yes, that’s how SimplyAlign works.” That’s the statement I hear the most from clients, and it goes back to releasing the heavy vibrations.

So, here’s my invitation for you this week:

Pay attention to how you’re feeling. Check in with yourself during the day to notice what emotion you’re feeling at the time, and whether it’s ABOVE or BELOW the line. Of course the goal is to stay above the line, by keeping or shifting your thoughts to a positive state.

Just having this awareness will help raise your vibration. Yay You!

And if you’re ready to take it several steps further and learn how to use SimplyAlign to quickly and gracefully release heavy emotions (and oh so much more!) then click here to learn more about the upcoming SimplyAlign Training Oct 18-21st – all ONLINE

Having the desire to do this work is a gift, and being able to do it well is a skill.

I can’t give you the desire if it’s not there, but if it is, I can teach you the skills to help you live

ABOVE THE LINE more often and skills to help you help others live above the line too.

Affirmations - Berry Orchard

6 Truths (& Affirmations) from the Berry Orchard

Today, I’m excited to share with you my insights from my first-time-ever blueberry and blackberry picking extravaganza! Have you ever picked berries? Ahh, so many good life lessons and reminders to be found in the berry patch! Scroll down to read all about it ~

Affirmations - Berry Orchard

Last week Dean the Dream and I drove about 30 minutes to Germantown, MD to a family farm called Butler’s Orchard. I had read the sweet family story online before we went so I had good vibes about this place and it didn’t disappoint.

George and Shirley Butler originally purchased a 37-acre farm. Over many years and through three generations, it has now expanded to 300-acres with a little market, a cafe, a petting zoo and other activities, but mainly many fields growing fruit, vegetables, and herbs.

We jumped on one of the farm trolleys for a short ride to the blueberry and blackberry fields. I love all types of berries but I actually had never seen an actual blueberry or blackberry bush so it was fun just to get an up-close look at how they grow.

Here are some insights that came to mind as we were picking:

1) Don’t stop at the first bushes. Although it’s convenient, they’ve also had more pickers. By putting in a little extra effort at the beginning to walk further we found tons of low hanging fruit. At the beginning of a project put in the extra effort needed for the best long-term success (or, “worst first / greater later”).

Affirmation: I do what’s needed now for success later

2) I found that by looking a little closer, or moving a branch slightly I could find many clusters of ripe berries perfectly ready to be picked. When we’re willing to look a little closer we find treasures right in front of us.

Affirmation: I see and value the treasures in front of me

3) The berries that were ripe and ready for harvest easily fell off right into our hands. The ones that weren’t quite ready required a gentle tug. Let it be easy, when things are ready, they’ll fall into your hands.

Affirmation: I let it be easy, I am patient with the flow of life

4) There were several other families nearby, speaking different languages, and although we didn’t understand their words, we did understand their laughter and enthusiasm about the berries. Even if we don’t completely understand others we can still share in their energy of happiness.

Affirmation: I share in the energy of joy with others

5) We focused on finding the berries that were at their peak, knowing that the not-quite-ripe berries that we left on the vines will be gathered in the coming days and weeks by later pickers. Also being grateful that those who came before us took what was ready at that time, and left plenty for us. Everything is in divine timing, the Universe is abundant and there is enough for you and anyone else who wants to gather.

Affirmation: I trust the abundance and timing of the Universe

6) When we got home I washed all my blue/blackberries in a tub of water with Veggie Wash – I put some in the fridge for snacking, cooked one small jar of sugar free jam, then put the rest in baggies and into the freezer so we can enjoy them in weeks to come! Delayed gratification is a good thing, it’s reassuring to know we have some sweetness for later.

Affirmation: I’m thoughtfully preparing now for the future

7) And here’s a BONUS lesson about being open to extra blessings. As we were driving out of the orchards, there it was! A field of herbs – it was glorious! We parked the car, I jumped out, got a container from the girl working in that section, and breathed deeply as I walked into the rows of those sweet smelling herbs!

Dill, parsley, basil, and cilantro, yum, they all wanted to come home with us- I mean, the berries were amazing, but this was truly the “garnish” on top of a great day! I’ve been enjoying cilantro in my smoothies and fresh basil on my salads and avocado toast this week. Be open to additional, unexpected blessings. Allow and accept good surprises into your life.

Affirmation: I am open to receiving goodness in expected and unexpected ways.

All in all – it was a delightful evening at the farm and I’m looking forward to going again next month for the “Sunflower Spectacular” and in October for “Pumpkin Harvest Days”. (And yes I’ll share some photos if it’s as cool as it sounds).

I hope you enjoyed these lessons and affirmations, and that you have something FUN planned for this weekend ~

Truths - Berry Orchard
Berry Orchard Cilantro

Shine On,
Carolyn

P.S. Now I’m curious…Do you love cilantro like I do? It seems people either love it or think it tastes like soap (or a stinky armpit, eww!). According to the research, loving it or hating actually depends on your genes- wow! (I wonder if we can clear that, lol.)

I’m curious, which one are you – love it, or hate it?

powerful

You need this short message today

This week’s message is short & sweet, yet powerful.

I’m sharing this poetry with you, but first ~

Take a breath

Open your heart

Read it slowly

Allow yourself to receive it

The universe took its time on you

crafted you to offer the world

something different from everyone else

when you doubt

how you were created

you doubt an energy greater than us both.

YOU are truly one of a kind.

You are unique and special.

Embrace it.

I just wanted to remind you of that.
